Black Adam
Dwayne Johnson channeled every bit of his anti-hero character as he emerged from the stage floor at the San Diego Comic-Con’s (SDCC). Dressed as Black Adam, with lightning bolts and smoke adding theatrics, he unveiled the new Black Adam trailer.
The trailer shows us the events in the life of Teth-Adam and how the tragedy in his past led him to become the mighty anti-hero. Empowered by his rage, Adam sets out to seek revenge on those who wronged him and his family. His actions don’t go unnoticed, as he soon catches the attention of the Justice Society of America (JSA), who then team up against him.
Black Adam, actually has some similarities to the character Shazam, as he is also bestowed with magical powers from the wizard Shazam. However, unlike Shazam, Black Adam calls upon the Egyptian gods for his powers rather than the Greek gods that Shazam calls to. An interesting point to mention is how Adam possesses powers similar to Superman.
The cast members and director Jaume Collet-Serra joined Johnson on stage, where they teased that Black Adam will forever change the DC Universe. Fans from the audience also got to ask the panelists questions such as whether Black Adam or Superman would win in a fight, which Johnson swiftly replied “It depends on who’s playing Superman.” Black Adam” hits theaters on Oct. 21.
