The Mandalorian season 3 – new trailer shows Mandalore, Bo-Katan, and more

Trailer for season 3 of The Mandalorian shown at D23 202

We got our first look at season 3 of The Mandalorian over the weekend with a trailer for the series. This trailer was first shown behind closed doors at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim earlier this year. Disney showed the trailer once again over the weekend at the D23 Expo before releasing it online.

From the trailer, it looks like the series will be picking up from where we left Mando off at the end of The Book of Boba Fett. That is, (spoilers) on his way back to Mandalore to atone for taking off his mask and disobeying the creed he’d sworn into.

However, it also looks like this creed will be thrown into question. Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff), a Mandalorian and returning character from season 2 and The Clone Wars, calls the creed a “cult” that “fractured our people”.

Other returning characters make an appearance in the trailer. Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris) show up in the trailer briefly. And, while he doesn’t appear in the trailer, there is a chance that Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) will return.

With a range of old and new characters, debating over what a Mandalorian is, and more action than you can shake a stick at, this trailer has a lot to sink your teeth into. You can watch the full thing right here:

The trailer ends by saying that the show will be streaming in 2023. The Tweet announcing the series specified February 2023, so it’s possible Disney have pushed the release date back.
