Black Adam gets a second trailer ahead of October release

A second trailer for Black Adam premiered at SoFi Stadium in California last night, September 8th. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dwayne Johnson made an appearance at the Los-Angeles Rams-Buffalo Bills game to show the trailer.
The trailer shows off some more of the heroes that Adam will have to fight. Hawkman, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher (played by Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, and Noah Centineo respectively) are seen fighting against Johnson’s Anti-Hero. And, of course, Pierce Brosnan’s Dr. Fate is leading these heroes in apprehending Black Adam.

Much like the first teaser, this second trailer for Black Adam emphasises the conflict between good and evil with the eponymous superhero. On the one hand, his powers are “born out of rage” and his main goal is revenge. On the other there is, no doubt, good in the character as he is, ultimately, an antihero. At least in the comics.
There’s little over a month to go before the film’s release on October 21st. It’ll be followed a few months later in March 2023 by Shazam! Fury of the Gods (Shazam being Black Adam’s longstanding nemesis).

While comic competitor Marvel has a lot of films on the horizon, DC’s upcoming film output is nothing to sneeze at either. Outside of Black Adam and Shazam, there’s also sequels to Joker and The Batman, as well as films for Flash and Aquaman.
