All the latest news about upcoming Pokémon titles from Nintendo’s “Pokémon Presents”

Nintendo released a “Pokémon Presents”, which included all the latest info on upcoming Pokémon games, events, an add-ons. Primarily, there was a lot of information about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which got its first trailer on June 1st.
The video started with updates on Pokémon World Championships 2022 which, alongside the trading game, video games, and Pokkén Tournament, will also have tournaments for Pokémon GO and Pokémon Unite.
Pokémon GO
Speaking of GO, the mobile game will be getting an event to mark the finale of Pokémon GO Fest 2022. These fests, held in various places around the world, had unique “Ultra Beasts” for trainers in attendance to catch. However, if you weren’t able to fly out to Berlin, Seattle, or Sapporo, you can catch the Beasts during the finale event on August 27, which is being held worldwide. On top of this, there is now a “daily adventure incense”. The incense is usable once a day and, for 15 minutes, attracts Pokémon you wouldn’t normally see.

Pokémon Unite
To mark Pokémon Unite’s first anniversary, Nintendo are adding new Pokémon, features, events, and campaigns to the game. Beginning today is “Pika Party”, which makes every Pokémon on the field Pikachu. Additionally, Buzzwole will be added to the game today at 5:00pm PT (1:00am on the 4th BST). Finally, Nintendo are adding some new costumes in celebration of the 1st anniversary.
Pokémon Café Remix
MewTwo is now in the game and can join your staff once you’ve satiated its hunger. It also comes with a “one-minute cooking” puzzle mode, a match-up game where you have to make as many combos as possible within a minute. Latias and Latios are also getting added to the game, with a special campaign running today to get Latias and Victini on your staff roster.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The next big games in the Pokémon franchise, Scarlet and Violet, got an in-depth showing during the presentation. Taking place in the “Paldea” region, the focus this time is much more on open-world exploration, much like Pokémon Legends: Arceus. To aid in this, you’ll use the new legendaries as motorbikes and gliders to climb cliffs, glide across areas, and swim through lakes.
The presenation teases “three grand stories”, one with the familiar Gym-battling affair from previous entries. Gym-battling has been changed up a bit, as you can challenge any of the 8 gyms in any order. As the narrator says, there is “no set path” through Scarlet and Violet’s victory road. The other two stories, however, haven’t yet been specified, but are different and will likely encourage exploration. As for the Pokémon, there are new regional variants of established monsters, like Wooper. We also got a look at more Paldea natives, like Fidough, the bread dog, and Cetitan a big ice-rhino-like creature.

Next, the presentation went into more detail about the multiplayer, where you can explore the world with three other people. The trailer says “enjoy all the Paldea region has to offer with family and friends”, which suggests that no content is gated off as singleplayer-only.
Tera-ffying
Next up is “Terastallizing”, where you use a Terastal ball to make your Pokémon “shine like gems”. This process boosts the Pokémon’s type and increases the strength of their moves. Some Pokémon will also change type, with the trailer showing Pikachu become a flying type. This depends on the Pokémon’s “tera type”, which is likely a randomised stat much like personality. For example, an Eevee normally Terastallizes into a normal type, however can also have a Tera type of Grass or Water.
With this new feature, there are also “Tera Raid Battles”, which you can take on with up to three other trainers and will have a higher likelihood of spawning a Pokémon with a rare Tera type. The trailer bills this as a “new kind” of raid, where you can “attack or heal with your own timing”. This likely means these raids won’t be turn-based. Once defeating the Pokémon, you get an opportunity to catch it.
