Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy stars as theoretical psychiatrist J. Robert Oppenheimer. The man who is widely considered to be the father of the atomic bomb in the movie Oppenheimer. Cillian isn’t the only star in this film. With a rich Hollywood cast with names such as Florence Pugh, Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr.
The trailer starts with a countdown to the precise moment when the movie will release leaving a sense of eerie excitement. You can also hear the voice of Emily Blunt, who plays Oppenheimer’s wife Kitty, saying: ‘The world is changing, reforming. This is your moment.’ The trailer doesn’t give too much away other than a peek into the catastrophic energy of the sun, as well as some vibrating images of the smokey bomb itself.
As Cillian’s character makes his first on-screen appearance, in black and white, we hear another character ominously state: ‘You gave them the power to destroy themselves and made him the most important man who ever lived.’
After Cillian stares out at the desert, a figure notes that his scientific achievements ‘made him the most important man who ever lived.’ The clip ends after the scientist is swarmed by journalists, and a final narration describes him as ‘the man who moved the earth.’
The movie is based on the scientist’s biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, which was penned by Martin J. Sherwin and Kai Bird.
It’s also worth mentioning the other big names that will be appearing in this movie such as Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, David Krumholtz, Michael Angarano and Sir Kenneth Branagh.
