House of the Dragon is set to premiere on August 21st

HBO dropped a new trailer for Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon last night. The trailer shows off some of the drama and action we’re to expect from the series. It looks to centre around the successor to the Iron Throne, with House Targaryen divided over the rightful heir.
The series is reportedly set 200 years before Game of Thrones. However, it will also jump through time to tell its story, as it focuses around a “generational war”. It could well be that the show will follow House Targaryan through its collapse and into what it is at the start of Game of Thrones.
And, of course, there’ll be plenty of dragons in the series which airs on HBO Max on August 21st. Watch the full trailer below:
House of the Dragon will also be making an appearance over the weekend at San Diego Comic Con. With an attraction that lets you sit on the Iron Throne and a panel that includes author of the books, George R.R. Martin, alongside the main cast and showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik.
And, beyond House of the Dragon is a series based around Jon Snow. Unlike the Targaryen-centric series, this Jon Snow show will be a sequel instead of a prequel. This has led people to see the sequel as a chance for HBO to redeem themselves of the mixed-to-negative reaction the final season of Game of Thrones received.
