Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a new multiplayer all-you-can-eat party game

Roll around and eat more food than your friends in Kirby’s Dream Buffet

Announced today, July 12th, Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a new party game centred around out-eating your friends. Playing as the titular pink ball (or multi-coloured variants) the game looks to have you racing through obstacle courses and picking up fruits to grow your Kirby. It then culminates in a “fruity fight atop a floating platform”. That’s right, after out-pacing your friends, you’ll kill them to be the last Kirb standing (or, uh, rolling).

Nintendo have given a release date of Summer 2022, so expect to see this release in the next few months. It’s also a Nintendo eShop exclusive, no doubt bad news for any Kirby collectors out there. A tweet from the official Japanese Kirby account also confirms online play.

You can watch the full trailer for the game down below:

Follow–up tweets from official Nintendo accounts have clarified some gameplay features. It seems you’ll be able to have your cake and eat it too, as the more your Kirby eats, the bigger he’ll get, and the faster he’ll roll. However, unlike a standard race, the goal in Dream Buffet is to get the heaviest (and roundest) Kirby you can.

You’ll want to get chunky to win the Dream Buffet

It seems we’re in somewhat of a Kirby renaissance at the moment, with the pink puffball profiting profusely for Nintendo earlier in the year with Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which topped physical game sales in the UK back in April.

Will you be checking out Kirby’s Dream Buffet when it launches this summer? Or will you be checking out another Kirby game? Either way, let us know in the comments below! You can also hop over to our Discord to chat with us about all things gaming and entertainment!
