Nintendo host a mini-direct to show off third party titles
To put a final bullet point on the not-E3 season, Nintendo hosted a ‘Direct Mini’ partner showcase. The goal of which is to show off projects from third party studios that are releasing on the Nintendo Switch. So, what was shown off?
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak pre-release trailer

Kicking off the show was a final trailer for Sunbreak, the expansion for Monster Hunter Rise. While we’ve already seen quite a bit about the expansion, this final trailer capped off by showing that Seething Bazelgeuse, a variant of one of the game’s monsters, will be coming to the game in August as free post-launch content.
Neir: Automata – The End of YoRHa Edition
Platinum Games‘ critically lauded Neir: Automata is coming to Switch. This edition comes with all previously released DLC which includes new modes and costumes. However, the Switch version will also get some new costumes exclusive to the Switch. Neir: Automata comes to Switch on October 6th.
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
Next up is a surreal, horror-themed puzzle adventure game called Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, which comes to consoles in 2023.
Super Bomberman R 2
Another entry in the classic Bomberman series is headed to Switch next year. The game comes with a new mode called ‘Castle Mode’ where 15 players have to try and get treasure while one other player tries to hold them back.
MegaMan Battle Network Legacy Collection

10 of the MegaMan Battle Network games are getting released onto Nintendo Switch in one bundle. Originally released on the Gameboy Advance, this marks the first time many of these games are available outside of the GBA.
Pac-Man World Re-Pac
From Bandai Namco comes a remake of Pac-Man World, a 2.5D sidescroller from the PlayStation 1. This full remake comes to Switch on August 26th.
Blanc
Play as a faun and a wolf cub in a puzzle adventure game about two unlikely friends journeying to try and get to safety. With local and online co-op, Blanc will be exclusive to Switch when it releases in February 2023.
Return to Monkey Island
A new adventure in the legendary Monkey Island series is coming to Switch. Following an announcement earlier this year, this is the first substantial look at gameplay we’ve gotten so far.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

The sequel to the highly-praised RTS Mario + Rabbids gets its first substantial gameplay video since its reveal last June. It also now officially has a release date of October 20th, with pre-orders available today. If you want to know more about the game, Ubisoft is giving it an extended showcase tomorrow at 5pm BST/12pm ET.
Sonic Frontiers
Sonic Frontiers got a more impressive-looking trailer than what was shown off at his own show. However, the Direct showed off some brand new footage of “a special zone called cyberspace”. This “special zone” looks to be more linear challenges that you can get to from warp points in the open zones. The game is set to come to Switch “this Holiday”.
Dragon Quest Treasures
A Dragon Quest spinoff, Dragon Quest Treasures has you recruiting monsters to help traverse the landscape and battle enemies, as you scour the land for lots of treasure. The game will release on December 9th.
Portal Companion Collection

The Portal Companion Collection is a Switch port of Portal 1 and 2 that will be available later today. This marks the first time Portal 1 has been on console since The Orange Box and the first time Portal 2 has been outside of Steam
Harvestella

From Square Enix comes Harvestella, a farming-sim-slash-action RPG that sees you fending off the “season of death” before it kills everyone and, more importantly, destroys your crops. The game will be available November 4th.
Persona 3, 4, and 5 Switch Ports
Following the announcement of Persona 3 through 5 coming to Xbox Game Pass, many were hoping for the games to come to Switch. It seems those prayers were answered, as Persona 5 Royal comes to Switch on October 21st. Beyond that, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will be coming to Switch at a yet unconfirmed date.
And that about wraps it up for the biggest releases from the Nintendo Direct Mini! Check out the full Direct below to see other titles like Minecraft Legends, Railgrade, and Disney Dreamlight Valley!
