Hyenas comes from Alien: Isolation dev team, Creative Assembly

Sega unveiled Hyenas during IGN’s Summer of Gaming. The game comes from Creative Assembly, the devs behind Alien: Isolation and the Total War series. It’s shaping up to be a team-based heist shooter, where 5 teams of 3 players compete to steal as much treasure as possible.
Taking place on spaceships, players will have to combat security systems and zero gravity in order to get loot. While there isn’t a gameplay trailer yet, we have some details on the types of characters available to the player. They’re split into three categories: “engage, evade, and exploit”. Pretty self explanatory, engage is for head-on action, evade for more ducking-and-weaving around obstacles, and exploit is the support class. Given the 3-player team size, it’s likely that Creative Assembly will balance Hyenas around having one of each class in the game.

The studio is adamant that the game is not a battle royale. However, they’ve taken the idea of an “unpredictable, chaotic space” from such titles as Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone. With the large maps and variety in how players can create builds, the team hopes to create a hectic environment. One that fosters player experimentation and freedom of expression.
As for what you’ll be stealing, it’ll be a lot of pop culture goodies. Things like Rubik’s cubes, green army men, and some Sega figurines are your target since, as IGN’s article puts it, “in Hyenas’ world, pop-culture artifacts from Earth’s past are the new diamonds”.

Hyenas doesn’t have a release date yet, however there’s an alpha test that you can access on the game’s website.
