Kit Harrington To Return As Jon Snow In Game Of Thrones Sequel

jon snow game of thrones

HBO is developing a Game of Thrones spin-off sequel centred on Jon Snow, with Kit Harrington set to reprise his role.

Game of Thrones saw Snow’s journey after he returned to the North and was named Warden of the North. HBO’s adaptation ended with Snow, previously thought to be the bastard son of Ned Stark, realising he was descended from the Targaryen family, because he had slept with and fallen in love with his aunt Daenerys Targaryen. Opening the possibility that he could be an heir to the Iron Throne. The show’s final scenes showed that Snow went into exile from Westeros to begin a new life.

Fans are almost unanimous in the belief that the finale of Game of Thrones was muddled and flat and entirely missed the early seasons’ magic. So, this new sequel could be a chance for the creators to redeem themselves.

The new show is the first to be a sequel, which means that HBO will expand George R. R. Martin’s universe beyond the original books, reopening what was previously believed to be the end of the series.

To date, there has been no word on whether the few familiar faces who survived the notoriously grisly series – such as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) – will appear on the show.

HBO’s upcoming spin-off House of the Dragon is set 200 years before Game of Thrones, and will start on the 21st of August. There are also some other spin-offs in the works confirmed by HBO which include Tales of Dunk and Egg, 10,000 Ships and Nine Voyages; all of which are all prequels.

Will you be excited to see Jon Snow back on your screen? Let us know in the comments below.
