The celebration video had news on upcoming Final Fantasy 7 games

Square Enix celebrated Final Fantasy 7‘s 25th anniversary with a 14 minute video showcase of upcoming games and products. This includes Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, an episodic mobile retelling of FF7, a remake of Crisis Core, and the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake, dubbed Rebirth.
Following the announcement of FF7 Rebirth, host Yoshinori Kitase says that there’s one more part to the remake after Rebirth. This second part of the remake will release winter 2023. If that feels a long way away then don’t fret, as the Crisis Core remake releases this winter.
Crisis Core is a prequel that takes place just before the main game. It stars Zack Fair, a young member of the same paramilitary organization Cloud and Sephiroth were a part of: SOLDIER. The game first released on PSP in 2007 (2008 worldwide) and the remake, dubbed Reunion, will keep the gameplay of the FF7 remake.

If you’re looking for a remake closer to the original’s gameplay, the Ever Crisis has you covered. For Android and iOS, the game covers every story in and around FF7. It’s set for release this year, and the showcase said it’ll have a closed beta test as well.
Alongside these game showcases, Square Enix showed off some other bits. First up was FF7 Intergrade‘s Steam release, followed by some new merch, and finally a new season of The First Soldier, Square Enix’s FF7-themed battle royale.
