It has been confirmed that a sequel to Joker is currently in the works. With actor Joaquin Phoenix and director Todd Phillips both set to return alongside Scott Silver returning as the co-writer.
On Instagram, Todd Phillips leaked the script’s cover and title of the new film called Joker: Folie á Deux. This is a nod to a psychological disorder regarding two people who have the same delusion who are very similar. Possibly leading to the plot having either a secondary protagonist or an antagonist with a similar end goal to the Joker. IGN also released an article alongside the following image:
More than likely this will be an all Joker film with no mention or showing of Batman or many of the other Gotham based villains and heroes even with the great reception of Robert Pattinson’s Batman as well as the post credits scene and Barry Keoghan’s Joker and his means of escape but it seems to be it’s own small universe separate to the other DC films.
