Classic high fantasy film Willow gets a sequel series

Among the rest of the news regarding Star Wars and all the other Disney+ shows and news. Nestled away was the official trailer for a series continuation of the 1988 cult film Willow. The trailer shows off some beautiful locations and most of the cast. Alongside Warwick Davis is a cast most of whom, funnily enough, weren’t born when the original film came out. This is except for Tony Revolori who seems to be a massive fan. But, making for some great fanservice is seeing Warwick return to play Willow Ufgood. This series takes place 2 years after the film. And unlike most other grimdark fantasy adventure media we have had in the past, Willow seems to be a return to the wonder of magical lands and strange places and the things that live there.
Although it’s been 30 years, it seems the world keeps to it’s source material with the trailer also showing us trolls and brownies, Nelwyn and Daikini among others. It also brings us the key cast members: Ruby Cruz is playing Kit, a princess with an abducted twin brother. Erin Kellyman playing a servant called Jade who is on a path to become the worlds best warrior. Ellie Bamber plays Dove, a kitchen maid who proves herself to way beyond what you would first expect. Amer Chadha-Patel is Boorman, a thief and and a liar who joins on the quest to clear his name and also includes Dempsey Bryk and Tony Revolori. A group of misfits and unlikely heroes for such an epic adventure.
Willow is set to release on November 30th on Disney+.
