Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim kicked off by showing off some upcoming shows

Star Wars Celebration 2022 started yesterday, May 26th, with a 5-hour live stream that featured reveals and showcases for upcoming shows. The event will run over the weekend until May 29th. Below is three of the biggest reveals Disney and Lucasfilm showed off during the live stream.
Andor
The Celebration started with a first look at Andor, billed as a “spy thriller created by Tony Gilroy”. The show has returning Rouge One deuteragonist Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna) in the protagonist’s seat. The Disney+ page for the show states that it will release August 31 and it will be 12 episodes long. The official description is as follows:
The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.
The Mandalorian: Season 3
Season 2 of The Mandalorian ended almost 2 years ago now. Although we saw Din and Grogu in The Book of Boba Fett, we’ve been missing a series entirely dedicated to the duo. That is, until now, as Disney announced season 3 of The Mandalorian for February 23 2023.
The event then showed off a trailer that isn’t available online yet. However, reports from attendees say that Din will go back to Mandalore to be “forgiven for his transgressions”. These “transgressions” are when Din decided to remove his helmet in previous episodes of the series. The trailer also features Bo-Katan and Greef Karga, and also suggests that Bo-Katan will play a much larger role this season.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

The last big bit of news is another entirely new series, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The show stars Jude Law and is billed as a coming-of-age tale that Jon Favreau states is “as much for kids as The Clone Wars.” The show is set to come to Disney+ sometime in 2023 and is made by director Jon Watts and writer Chris Ford, who previously worked together on Spider-Man: Homecoming.
And that’s it for the big reveals! You can watch the full live stream down below, which is chock full of Star Wars discussion and returning cast members like Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, and more!
