505 Games kick off 2022’s mid-year reveal season with a showcase of four games
Publisher 505 games had a game showcase today, May 17th, where they showed off three brand new games and one that released recently. The company has published games like Terraria, Ghostrunner, and Death Stranding: The Director’s Cut for PC. Here’s what they showed off:
Among the Trolls
The first game they showed off was Among the Trolls, a first-person survival crafting game. With a focus on folklore, the game features rituals, sacrifices, and other supernatural elements to spice up the usual survival formula. Should you wantonly chop down trees, the forest will get more dangerous as the spirits get angry with you. To offset this, you have to give offerings back to the forest to appease the spirits. The trailer showed off making effigies, gold panning, and general building mechanics. The game will be coming to early access soon.

Stray Blade
Next up is Stray Blade, an action-RPG that boasts fluid combat and a varied open world. The game shows off a variety of weapons available to the player, and the option to easily change the weapon type you want to use. Moreover, you’ll have a small, furry companion who will level up with you and become more useful with you in combat. The game is slated to release on PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5 in 2023.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is an upcoming JRPG that is due to come out next year. The game is being made by ex-developers who worked on the Suikoden series, a JRPG that last saw an entry in 2006. Moreover, it’s a Kickstarter game, and managed to become the most backed game for 2020 on the site. The showcase gave us a look at Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, a companion game that released on May 10th. This segment showed off the town system and how certain shops work and evolve with the player.

Miasma Chronicles
The show ends on a teaser trailer for Miasma Chronicles. The Bearded Ladies, developers of Mutant Year Zero, have described the game as a tactical adventure and have given a 2023 release date. Meanwhile, the cinematic trailer shows us a young man and a robot trying to open some sort of spiky wormhole. From what the trailer shows, machines, gadgets, and weird anomalies will be central to the game.
