Sony gives us a preliminary look at some of the games that will be included in PS Plus when it launches next month

In a blog post today, May 16th, Sony have revealed a list of some of the games that will be available on their revamped PS Plus service. The service, announced in March, launches next month and promises over 700 games for £13.49 per month.
Today, Sony has given us a glimpse of some of the games that will be available when the service launches. Among the PS4 and 5 games are exclusives like Bloodborne, The Last of Us Remastered, and Spider-Man. Not only that, there are also some third party releases. Games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be available with the £10.99 per/month PS Plus Extra tier.
For classic games, some titles “will show improved frame rates and higher-quality resolution compared to their original launch versions”. Not only that, but select games will have new menus that allow for save states and rewinding. This feature is often found in emulators, including official ones for certain Nintendo games. Early games confirmed for the service include Ape Escape, Syphon Filter, the Jak and Daxter trilogy, and Tekken 2.
The PS3 games available for streaming aren’t slacking either. Sony has confirmed classics like Demon’s Souls, Infamous, and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare for the service.
Game trials and release schedules
The post touches on time-limited game trials, a new system that lets you play two hours of a game. It gives Horizon: Forbidden West and Cyberpunk 2077 as just two of the games confirmed to have this feature. As Sony states: “it’s a great way to try games before you decide to buy, and any trophies and game save data from the trial period will carry-forward if you purchase the game.”
Sony ends the post by describing the release schedules for new games. PS Plus Essential (AKA, what PS Plus is now) will get new games on the first Tuesday of each month. Meanwhile, PS Plus Premium/Deluxe members will get their new games in the middle of each month.
