Top 5 Horses In Red Dead Redemption 2

In Red Dead Redemption 2 your horse will be your closest ally and it is important to make sure you have a good one. In RDR2, there are four different kinds of horses (warhorse, workhorse, racehorse, and elite). Each of these makes up 19 different types of horses.

Choosing the right horse for your stable space and time is not always easy. Even though you may be drawn in by pretty colours and patterns, your primary concern should be the handling of your horse more than the look. So here are the top 5 horses in the game and where you can find them.

1/5

White Arabian

Arabian horses are among the best horses in RDR2, with the majority of them being the best in the game. You will have a much easier time surviving in the west with the powerful Arabian breed by your side. While the white Arabian horse can be obtained relatively early on, the other Arabians must be purchased at stables.

The white Arabian is a great horse for many reasons. It can be found very early in the game and can be found very easily by Lake Isabella. It’s the most balanced horse in the game and once you have it, I doubt you will want another, especially since you will get compliments on your beautiful steed wherever you go.

2/5

Turkoman

Turkomans combine the best qualities of racehorses and war horses, giving Arabians a great run for their money. Turkomans are known for their health and high speed, but they are also known for being impatient and running from new owners, so make sure you establish a good relationship with yours right away.

The Turkoman is a high speed and high health, so it is a great horse to have if you want to get places quickly and have a horse that isn’t going to abandon you when things get rough, so you can win those high-speed shoutouts.

3/5

Missouri Fox Trotter

Missouri Fox Trotters are great horses that combine the qualities of a racehorse with a workhorse to perform just about any task you throw at them. Their top speed is high, and they provide a smooth riding experience.

This horse is multiclass with high speed and high stamina that is great for racing.  It is an extremely high tier breed of horse that has two different coat styles. Neither coat is available outside of stables for a price that exceeds $1,000.

4/5

Ardennes

A strong warhorse like the Ardennes will carry you through any battle with ease. These horses are wildly brave and seldom back down from a challenge. This makes them ideal for storming the enemy’s territory.

They can be found with 3 different coats, and are somewhat good quality war horses with high stamina and health. Certain coats can be bought, and one is a special pre-order bonus horse.

5/5

Andalusian

Known for their powerful, compact size, the Andalusians are powerful war horses. Their manes and tails are thick, their bodies are strong, and their heads are noble. Dark Bay and Rose Gray coats are available at stables. This breed of horse is courageous and will not be spooked easily.

Their good handling, good Acceleration and average speed, as well as their increased stamina and good health, make them great for long trips. The only Andalusian coat that can be acquired for free in Story Mode is the Perlino coat. The horse will be located as soon as Chapter 2 near the first ‘R’ from Roanoke Ridge.
