Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ show gets a brand new trailer!

The trailer comes weeks before the show’s first episode, on May 27th

Really starting to rock the “dishevelled old hermit” look here.

As part of the May the 4th celebrations, Disney has dropped a new trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi. The story follows the titular Jedi between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

Here’s the full trailer:

The new trailer shows Obi-Wan on the desert planet of Tatooine as the Galactic Empire relentlessly try to hunt him down. We’re also treated to glimpses of Luke Skywalker, a new Inquisitor, and the big man himself: Darth Vader.

empire inquisitor
If you hadn’t already guessed, the Inquisitors’ main goal is to hunt down all remaining Jedi.

The story will start 10 years after Revenge of the Sith where, as the trailer’s description puts it “Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat – the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker”. As the trailer shows us, Obi-Wan’s time on Tatooine will be anything but peaceful.

However, it looks like Tatooine won’t be the only planet in the series. The trailer also shows off what looks like Coruscant and a very watery-looking planet. Other sources have also said that there will be a rematch between Kenobi and Vader. Presumably, Obi-Wan won’t disappear part-way through this time.

A chest panel and some breathing is all we get of him, but for Vader? A chest panel and some breathing is all you need.

The series will see the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan, alongside Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. It will also be a 6-part series and will start streaming on May 27th, a couple days after the initial release date.

Are you looking forward to the series? What are the things you’re most hoping for in it? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below! Or, you can join our Discord to chat with us about all things movies, entertainment, and Star Wars! May the 4th be with you!
