Despite being released in 2014, The Sims 4 is still widely played worldwide. There are many different add-ons for The Sims 4 that have been released over the years, so it can be hard to decide which ones are the ripest for downloading. Thankfully, we’ve compiled a list of the current top 5 Expansion, Game, and Stuff packs that are worth your time and money!
Expansion Packs
1/5
Be Prepared For Changing Seasons

If you can only buy one expansion pack then it should be ‘Seasons’. The seasonal pack completely transforms The Sims 4‘s world from eternal, sunny skies to exciting new weather, making the game feel a lot more realistic and exciting.
Just when you thought this pack couldn’t get any better it also introduces holidays like Love Day, Harvestfest, Winterfest, and New Year’s Day, and provides a handy calendar for players to keep up with upcoming events.
One of the best things about Seasons is that it affects all Sims 4 worlds, making it the best and most useful expansion pack yet. Although you don’t gain a new world, the pack makes every existing one in the game feel new.

Befriend Chickens, Cows, And Llamas In Cottage Living

‘Cottage Living’ brings a new life to the Sims 4, giving you a new rural, English-inspired world of Henford-on-Bangley. Sims can now grow their own crops and raise & befriend animals. If you love the cottage core aesthetic, this is the pack for you.
Now let’s talk chickens. Chickens are one of the best animals you can own in cottage living; you feed them, clean them and in return, they lay eggs for you. Chickens can sometimes attack your Sim, depending on your relationship with them and what mood they are in, and if you have decided to push them too far with one too many mean actions. Be warned, there is also a small chance of death by chicken, so be nice to your feathery friends.

Move To San Myshuno In City Living

‘City Living’ offers a new city full of new and exciting things. The city of San Myshuno is broken down into four main districts. It offers a super realistic city living experience like playing basketball on a court, participating in a pickup game, plus flea markets and festivals. With gorgeous rooftop bars and some amazing apartments, what more could a Sim want?
Just like a real city, San Myshuno is full of diversity, with numerous cultural dishes and clothes on display. The NPCs are always fun, friendly, and quirky people. Sims have to pay rent to live in the city and contend with noisy neighbours and landlords. Sims also have the opportunity to eat lunch from vendors, meet tourists, see street performers, and pursue new city-themed careers.

Enjoy A New Role With Get To Work

Sims 4 ‘Get to Work’ features only three different career options: a Doctor, a Scientist, and a Detective, plus an option to open a retail store. Although there are only three career options, each is fairly rich in detail but can become tedious after a while, so while this pack is definitely worth a buy, you shouldn’t expect hours upon hours of gameplay from it for fear of getting boring.
Get to Work lets you turn a lot into a retail store, where you can boost your store with signs and other decorations to increase appeal from Sims out shopping. You can make nearly any kind of store you like, from selling foods to clothing and practically most things from Buy Mode.
The Doctor Career requires the most work out of the three main options. You will have many duties from determining diseases based on visual symptoms, to performing tests on your patients.
The Detective Career starts with some low-level work but eventually grows to allow your Sim to fully pursue criminals and solve the crimes they have committed. You will eventually take on cases and get to interrogate suspects to get confessions.
The Scientist Career is the easiest out of all three but offers the biggest rewards! There will be moments when your Sim will have a breakthrough, and when this happens you will get to build a new design using the invention constructor!
5/5
Have A Fur Baby With Cats And Dogs

If you’re an animal lover then this is the pack for you! Becoming a cat or dog mum in The Sims 4 doesn’t add or change any major gameplay mechanics-wise, as you can’t play as your pet but they do add a great family dynamic and make an excellent addition to any household.
‘Cats and Dogs’ come with a create a pet tool that allows you to customise your pet from their behaviour to outer appearance. Your pets will have three life stages; kitten/puppy and adult/elder. They will live through life stages the same as normal Sims only much shorter. Pets can also die, but only from old age.

The build and buy items are sweet and versatile, the new world is small but stunning and there’s a secret realm to explore. Stuff Packs

Become A BBQ King Or Queen With Backyard Stuff

Spice up your garden with this stuff pack, backyards can be rather boring in Sims 4 and because of this more time is usually spent on houses rather than the gardens. This pack will help you give your garden a summery vibe that makes you want to decorate and enjoy your backdoor patch of land.
Enjoy a nice glass of lemonade and then why not go for a slide down the new waterslide. This pack offers many different activities with a variety of flowers and bushes to contribute to the summery vibe of your garden.

With Tiny Living

Bigger is not always better. It’s easy to get lost in a big house and it can take tasks much longer as your Sims travel from room to room, that’s why Sims tiny living is an awesome pack challenging your inner interior designer.
There are a lot of bonuses with this pack; if you live in a tiny house, you can get double skill gains on that entire lot and if you can crunch it down to the minimum size, will also get increased relationship gains and plant growth.

Get Out The Needles With Nifty Knitting

It’s no hidden secret that knitting is the main feature of this pack. Sims can knit practically anywhere that they are able to sit from sofa to poolside. If you work your knitting skills and get to a level 10 skill you will be able to make more varied types of clothing and children’s toys like a mini grim reaper.
Nifty Knitting offers more than just a new hobby as it allows you to sell your creations on Plopsy, the Sims equivalent of Etsy. You can also make clothing for any animals in the game, for both pets and farm animals alike.
