It seems that Rare is keen to expand upon the Sea of Thieves world, as they have dropped a cinematic trailer for their latest adventure Forts of The Forgotten, and have also announced a new original novel Heart of Fire, based on the game.
The trailer focuses more on the plot of the new adventure instead of the potential gameplay. In fact, several new key details about the lore were revealed in this trailer!
This includes the whereabouts of Wonda, the Golden Sands Outpost weaponsmith, her sister who now bears the Masked Stranger identity and the state of Captain Flameheart and his son. It seems that the development of these characters and the world of Sea of Thieves will be the focus of this adventure.
Forts of The Forgotten is set to go live on March 24th and will end on April 7th. As promised in their January Roadmap, this Adventure will also be introducing Sea Forts!

In addition, a new novel was also announced alongside the trailer! Set around the previously unknown period of Sea of Thieves history, the novel will explore “the rise and fall of the villainous Captain Flameheart”.
