It seems that we here at All Maverick have impeccable timing as now 2K have announced all of the additional DLC characters that are coming to the game WWE 2K22 only a day after our predictions! First, let’s take a look at just who will be joining the WWE 2K22 roster.
The first two packs are actually ones I’m hyped for, only because I look forward to using Omos to finally go one-on-one with the Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman, and of course Indi Hartwell!. Sadly, Indi, Omos, Kacy, and Cactus Jack are the only characters from both of these packs I’m excited for, as otherwise, I don’t think any of these will make it into my personal rotation of mains.
The next two packs are very interesting as another one of my picks makes their way into the game like none other than Doudrop! Sadly, Eva Marie isn’t a part of the ‘Clowning Around’ pack which is a big shame as she would of fit under that category. Though the addition of Mr T isn’t news, I do quite like the idea of making the cast of The A-Team into wrestlers! Also, Rick Boogs is a true gem on WWE TV with him teaming alongside Shinsuke Nakamura; I certainly hope we see an entrance like the one the duo have on TV!
Honestly, I’m not sure exactly who asked for Logan Paul’s inclusion in this game. Like all other fans, I’d much rather have seen Bad Bunny make an appearance as he had the match of the night when he and Damian Preist defeated The Miz and John Morrison at Wrestlemania 37! Machine Gun Kelly makes some sense since he did have some involvement in the 2k22 soundtrack and now we can finally have him and Eminem duke it out in a wrestling ring. A positive from this pack is Xia Li, a fan favourite and I know many people are looking forward to seeing what entrance is used for her in the game.
Personally, I think this DLC cycle for WWE 2K22 is pretty lacklustre overall. For one, it’s sad to see literal Hall Of Famers missing from the in-game roster: The absence of Nikki and Brie Bella is bad enough, not to mention Lita too, one of the greatest of all time! The absence of Paige, The Bella Twins, Lita, and the entirety of the NXT 2.0 roster are huge disappointments, and for some fans that will be the very reason they choose not to purchase the game.
