After an incredibly long wait, we finally have some new Cyberpunk2077 content and honestly, this update has been amazing! It was released on February 15th, 2022 and was a whopping 50GB download.

Honestly, the game now handles like a totally new game and that is such a good thing. Let’s talk about the new additions first! The main thing that caught my eye was the addition of new purchasable apartments! There are four apartments the player can now buy! The prices range from 5,000 to 55,000 eddies!

These apartments all have their own unique layout and feel to them too! Starting with the cheapest of the bunch, coming at only 5,000 eddies is the Northside apartment. This is a very small space but it does have its own charm to it thanks to the arcade machine in the corner.

Continuing in the order of cheapest to dearest, next we have the Japan Town apartment coming in at 15,000! Honestly, this is my least favourite one of the bunch.

It like all the others has its own personality and as you’d expect from an apartment in a place called Japan Town with some Japanese decor. It also has a guitar which V can now play!

Third, is the apartment in The Glenn which is more a loft than anything else and this is my personal favourite! Coming with a pool table that V can sink a few balls on and one hell of a view this apartment has so much charm it’s more than worth the 40,000 price tag.

The last purchasable apartment is the Corpo Plaza apartment. This is the most costly one coming in at 55,000 and its got the exact luxury vibe you’d expect from a luxury apartment in the city centre.

Sadly, we can’t get V’s mansion from the ending with Rogue which is a true shame. If you want to purchase any of these apartments you can either head to the new site on V’s computer at their apartment called EZEstates or you can merely follow the quest marker! Though all the apartments have interactable objects ranging from the pool table and guitar I mentioned earlier to a coffee machine and record-player.

Along with these, you can also choose to give V’s signature apartment a makeover. However all the makeover does is change the colour scheme and doesn’t actually add any new decor or anything like that. You may choose a makeover from the EZEstates page on V’s computer in the apartment. You may choose one of the following.
- Coronada Twilight – 10,000.
- California Max – 10,000.
- Flamingo City – 10,000.
- Sowbread Tiger – 10,000.
- Neon Sands – 10,000.
- Lunar Tranquility – 10,000.
It’s worth noting that each makeover is 10,000 each but you do not own the style after choosing. So each makeover is not a one time buy and that changing to a previously applied theme still incurs a 10,000 eurodollar cost.

Another very important addition is the fact that your chosen love interest now feels more like your partner. For example players can now expect random texts from their partner. The first playthrough I had of this was Judy!

I’m currently awaiting for Judy’s grandmother to appear in my messages but this was a fun addition and actually makes the relationship feel like it’s a living breathing romance. Along with new text exchanges, you can also experience new dialogue options however it is said that to truly get the best out of this you are advised to start a new game. Texting your partner isn’t the only thing you can do. You can now share a bed with them too.

Once again, this just helps the romance feel more alive.

Another fine addition to the game is the ability to finally change the look of your character! No longer are we stuck looking the same throughout the entire game. Much to the annoyance of fans, you still cannot add or remove tattoos. Knowing CDPR they will likely fix this at a later date as it always seems they are listening to their community.

Now, here’s a quick-fire of things that have been adjusted; The perk system has been reworked with the stealth perk now being called Ninjutsu. A lot of the perks have been reworked or removed which is why players who sign into their current playthrough will notice all of their perk points have been reset. The minimap has also been reworked as well as the entire menu screen. Along with this, completing all gigs for a fixer will earn you a reward. Dakota for example gives you a new Mackinsaw!

Of course, that isn’t it. The update also contained various patches for bugs and glitches throughout the game and also worked on improving the driving aspect of the game. For example, changes were made to the engine simulation and clutch simulation, improving resistance forces from the engine when shifting, helping to remove unwanted wheel spin events.

Another welcomed addition is the ability to use Johnny Silverhand in photo mode! Now you can take photos of your favourite rocker boy doing whatever shenanigans that seem to have come his way.

Other than a few more background additions like changes to the AI’s behaviour in how it acts whilst driving, that is all this update contains. truth be told that this update has vastly improved the games lifespan and brought back a lot of old players to Night City along with some new players too!

The Future Of Cyberpunk 2077 - All Maverick
May 5, 2022 at 5:42 pm[…] It seems that Cyberpunk 2077’s future is slightly uncertain as nobody truly knows what will happen next. The developers seem to be focused on continued support to rid the game of those pesky bugs that are still a nuisance. It’s worth mentioning to those of you who are still scared to pick up Cyberpunk 2077 that it is NOT the game it once was but you can find my article on that here and here. […]
