According to a press release from the Pokemon Company International, the highly anticipated virtual Pokémon trading card game beta test will be available to players in Canada on the 22nd of February 2022! However, no mention of further beta test dates or territories were made.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Live (Pokémon TCGL) is a free to play online card game that features no microtransactions. A reason for this may be that players are able to scan code cards to build their deck, which reduces the need of buying virtual card packs. It appears the game is more of an online platform that is complimentary to the real life trading card game to reinvigorate interest around it.
The game will feature deck building, player battles, as well as gameplay modes and daily quests for all types of players regardless of their skill level. Furthermore, limited-beta participants will have the opportunity to play the upcoming Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars in Pokémon TCG Live prior to the expansion’s global release.
This indicates that the studio is ensuring that the online game is up-to-date with the latest cards available in the tabletop card game.

Are you going to hop on the game when it comes out? Are you Canadian and beaming with joy? Or do you (im)patiently wait for a chance to get a sneak peak? Go wild with your thoughts down the comment box!
