Sea of Thieves Embarks On New ‘Adventures’ For 2022!

We at All Maverick were thrilled when watching the Sea of Thieves preview event as Rare announced their new direction for the game and the planned updates that would take us to uncharted territory.

Promises of new ‘Adventures’, Sea Forts, mystery and an overarching story that builds upon the world’s lore, indicate the game is going to be bigger than ever.

With the success of the previous live events and seasons, Rare will be evolving Sea of Thieves into a more dynamic world by constantly updating the game with Adventures, which will act as chapters to an overarching plot. These adventures will bring in new content for players which will tie in with the events of the current story.

This is similar to what we see in Apex Legends, where the stories give context to the player’s actions giving it more depth which engages the player with the world they are playing in.

As part of this new Adventure, the game will be receiving mini-raids known as Sea Forts, which will be random personal raid encounters that can be either approached solo or with a small crew. These forts will not only be rife with enemies but also glorious plunder!

Also included will be Pirate Legend Voyages which will be replayable missions with diverse and shifting challenges that focus on exploration, ranging from shipwrecks to haunted islands.

The new plot for the upcoming season continues the Sea of the Damned storyline and will be centered around the Shrouded Islands with the Golden Sands being the starting point.

Players will not only have to decipher the mystery of what took place, but will be also expected to decide the outcome of the story as a community, all the while slicing and blasting the abundant legions of specters that now infest the Sea of Thieves.

The team have also announced that they will be adding even more features over the next several months including entirely new ways to play and progress.
