With the former showrunner Russell T. Davis returning to Doctor Who, fans are debating amongst themselves on if we will see another Doctor Who spin-off since Russell’s last innings saw the creation of beloved Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures spin-offs. So, here are five ideas on just what they could be.
Honourable Mention: Torchwood

This one is kind of cheating so, I’ve labelled it as an honourable mention. The idea of a Torchwood reboot is very appealing. We know the Torchwood show was based on the third incarnation of Torchwood which opens the door to the possibility of a brand new show with a brand new cast being set around the fourth incarnation of Torchwood. Sadly, given recent controversy, we possibly won’t see the return of fan favourite Captain Jack Harkness.
Number One: The Jenny Show

Ever since that cliffhanger of an ending to ‘The Doctor’s Daughter’ in season four, the subject of Jenny has been on the minds of many fans. It was said that off-screen the very rocket she took off in had hit a moon and she exploded but, Jenny has appeared in various audio-only adventures since then and would honestly make for an amazing show bringing those to life.
Idea Two: Doctor Who: Agents of U.N.I.T

U.N.I.T has been a reoccurring faction in Doctor Who ever since the early days when Tom Baker used to pilot the TARDIS and fans have grown to love it! If Torchwood isn’t getting a revive then the same episode structure can be applied to U.N.I.T. We could even see this set during the time Martha Jones worked for U.N.I.T.
Idea Three: Micky Smith’s Misadventures

There was a brief time that saw beloved character Micky Smith travel to the mirror universe and work for Rose’s dad and Torchwood. We do know that later on, he returned to the prime universe after the death of his nan which was made possible by the whole dimension cannon and all. Micky’s Adventures must have taught him a lot as when we first see both him and Jackie, he blasts a Dalek without hesitation and all. It would be nice to follow the journey of Micky and see what he got up to during his time in the mirror universe! However, this is unlikely due to the various accusations that are going on around Noel Clarke, the actor of Micky.
Idea Four: The Adventures of Luke Smith

Ever since the heart-shattering passing of Elisabeth Sladen anything Sarah Jane related just doesn’t feel right without the iconic actress. However, it would be nice to see Luke Smith taking up the mantle of his mother and bringing K9 along for the ride as he gets up to various adventures just like what he and his mother did. For bonus points and to make it feel truly like Sarah Jane is still with us we’d need to see Tommy Knight reprise the role of Luke just because people will still be able to picture dear old mum next to him.
Idea Five: The Clone & Rose Show

Ever since Journey’s End, everyone has wondered what happened to Rose and the clone of the Doctor and a series set around this would benefit everyone. From those invested in the story of Ten & Rose to the fans who just want to see David Tennant back in Doctor Who. Granted, it won’t be the same but we can’t have it all.
