The Star Wars Eclipse trailer was one of the only redeeming qualities from the Game Awards. (For those who want to watch the original stream you can do so here & the All Maverick reactions here.) The levels of excitement that I had seeing some of the iconic Star Wars races like the Mon Calamari were off of the charts!
We can reveal that Star Wars Eclipse will be set in the High Republic Era of Star Wars. For those unaware, the High Republic Era is said to be when the Jedi were most active in the galaxy and the Galatic Republic was also at its height. The game is being brought to us by award-winning independent studio Quantic Dream.

The trailer gave us some brilliant scenes like the ones above which show off some new cities along with some fan-favorite aliens, and what appears to be a very early protocol droid. On first viewing, I thought this was even C3-PO but given that this takes place 200 years before the Skywalker Saga, it clearly isn’t our favorite gold droid.

Upon further investigation on StarWarsEclipse.com, we can also add that this game will allow us to shape our own story due to the actions we take. I’m unsure if this will be like Life is Strange where every small decision counts towards the story or if it’ll take a Mass Effect Andromeda approach where the choices we make only affect small portions of gameplay.
“With all-new characters and environments, you have the power to make choices with consequences thanks to many outcomes in this deeply branching narrative”
