Sea of Thieves Season Five will be playable in a few days; introducing a wide range of new cosmetic sets, quality of life updates and other changes.
One intriguing new addition is that players can now bury their treasure around the map. The locations for these hidden caches will be marked on a custom treasure map, should you wish to dig it up again. Moreover, these custom maps can be posted on the new Quest Board for other players to hunt. Once the treasure has been discovered and traded in by another crew, you share in the riches!

It wouldn’t be a Sea of Thieves update without bountiful additions to the cosmetics catalogue. New Pirates of the Caribbean content can be purchased from within the Pirate Emporium. Should you feel the desire to don the villainous attire of Captain Barbossa and captain his ship on the stormy seas, now you can!
An abundance of new colourful festive items and ship decorations are also being made available just in time for the holiday season. Fireworks are also being added to the game with several to choose from, and although these are purely cosmetic, flares will also be available to signal other players.
The Royal Revenge, Captain Barbossa’s Ship New Emissary Rewards Party Boat: Ship Set, Outfits and Weapons Exclusive: Boreal Aurora Ship Set
In total there are a staggering 100 new additions obtainable in the Season 5 update, for free to all players. The Plunder Pass adds a further 14 exclusive items such as the Boreal Aurora ship set. There’s also the Cannon Rowboat. That’s right, they strapped a cannon onto a rowboat. It can also be mounted to ships.

Some new sea shanties are being updated to your musical repertoire, which are: Ballad Of The Mer, Row Row Row Your Boat and the Infernal Gallop.
We can surely welcome the numerous quality of life updates added as we loot and plunder our way into the game’s fifth season. To name but a few: PvE enemies will now drop ammo pouches, players mouths actually move when broadcasting over voice, and the speaking trumpet can now be held backwards in order to whisper to those nearby.
Furthermore, not only can you finally sit down on chairs, it’s also possible to rest your weary sea legs on any bed to regenerate health.
