Is Cyberpunk 2077 Good Now?

The ride of its life… Literally.

With Black Friday sales now in full effect, it’s time to see if Cyberpunk 2077 is truly worth the money; after such a controversial release and lifespan, surely by now, the game must have some value? Currently, as of writing this, Cyberpunk 2077 is available to pick up for £19.99.

A bargain!

For those unaware, upon release Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the worst-reviewed games of the year. This was mainly due to the expectations everyone had for this game and the false promises the developers made such as the fact that every NPC will have their own animations to truly make the city feel alive. It’s safe to say that the endless promises and expectations were what let this game down. However, it was the game-breaking bugs that were the final nails in this coffin.

It was hyped up as one of the best games to ever grace the consoles but sadly it was anything but. In spite of the game’s glitches, it did have some redeeming qualities; granted the quest design wasn’t anything that was promised to us but the story was still brilliant, the design of Night City is also pretty good on the Playstation 5 and Xbox series X/S. The majority of Cyberpunk 2077’s demons do come from its launch, as most of the issues have been fixed thanks to patches since release which means it’s no longer the unplayable mess it was once.

#BlackFriday week is underway.

For those still unconvinced, Cyberpunk 2077 has been nominated for two awards at this year’s game awards; those being ‘Best Score’ and ‘Best RPG’. These nominations aren’t to be taken lightly and are another hint that the game has risen up from the ashes of its release like a phoenix rising. There is no better time to pick this game up than now as it’s on sale for such a good price.

The nomination for ‘Best RPG’ is certainly a deserved one. Cyberpunk offers three different character backgrounds or ‘life paths’ which also see four different endings, including a secret ending that can only be done if the player has chosen certain choices throughout the entirety of the game. All of this surely adds some major replayability; such as the fact that players can romance certain characters depending on which gender they chose.

The visuals in this game are both specular and immersive. Night City is a beautiful setting that sadly doesn’t have much to do in variety but just look at it! At first, I myself didn’t enjoy the first-person perspective but soon came to love it. The game is certainly worth the buy and since the Playstation Store’s sale runs out on Monday the 29th of November that is more than enough time to get around to picking this game up. I certainly wouldn’t advise picking this game up for £60 but I more certainly will advise picking it up for £19.99. This game has true potential and a bright future with promises of more updates and content to come. Give this game a chance this black Friday and I’m sure you won’t regret it.

Wake the F*ck up, Samuari. You have a game to buy AND a city to burn.

If you enjoy RPG games then you will love this. Stunning visuals and amazing characters all around. It does lack some variety in places but for £19.99 you really cannot do wrong. Pick this game up and play it with an open mind. Do remember to save the game periodically and you should honestly have no problems!
