It has been many a year since our last trip through the Chappa’ai and seems that it could finally be time to dial up the Stargate once again. This is mainly a theory but a credible one at that.

This all started back on the 26th of May 2021, when Amazon decided to purchase MGM Studios. The studio who make some amazing things such as: James Bond, The Hobbit & the Rocky movies; The most important one for us though is Stargate. As a whole, they made everything in the franchise from Stargate SG-1 to both Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. This already made the Stargate Fans begin to chatter amongst themselves over a possible revival of our much-loved series.
The next thing Stargate-related came from our beloved Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) herself! Announcing that she and a group of familiar faces were going to read through a Stargate script created solely by an Artificial intelligence. Upon watching the live stream though, some Stargate fans had noticed that all the AI had done was cut up old scripts from previous Stargate media and mashed them together like some kind of blender. Sadly, this was a subscriber-exclusive and at the time of writing, only a clip has surfaced.

Furthermore, we now have Eaglemoss; a company known for making model starships announcing two Stargate ships will be joining their fleet, a Goa’uld Ha’tak class ship along with a Death Glider will be released in 2022. It wasn’t until researching this article that I also found out we will also be getting a BC-304 (Commonly referred to as a Daedalus class ship) too! For those interested, you can preorder your Ha’tak and BC-304 class ships here! The 304 class will be released in December of this year just in time for Christmas.
Finally, we have something much more concrete which points to the idea of Stargate making a return to our screens in the near future. This comes from an exclusive interview done by Syfy with the show’s creator, Brad Wright. In which he reveals he has already written a pilot for one of several pitches he has for a Stargate revival, although he isn’t sure if it will ever see production.
“My goal was to create something that was new that also honored the existing universe, that lived in the canon of SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe, and therefore included some of those characters.” explains Wright. “Bring in a new guard? Absolutely. But not at the expense of the pre-existing characters, who I think would still be very much on their game and still firing on all cylinders.”
Brad Wright – Syfy Exclusive.

This concludes all we have on Stargate for now. Hopefully, everything we have gone over is enough proof that a Stargate reboot is coming soon; for Brad Wright to be pitching ideas and writing pilots, it has to be serious right?! Please do let us know what your thoughts are down below and be sure to stay with us here at All Maverick for your gaming & entertainment news but most importantly, have a great weekend!
