Haunted Chocolatier: A New Venture by Stardew Valley’s Creator

ConcernedApe is an incredible developer, there is no doubt about it. With this new venture, we may be looking at a more personal project from him.

Just look at all them pixels!

“In Stardew Valley, the focus was more humble: living off the land, growing food, and connecting to the people and nature around you. However, with my next game, I wanted to explore more fantastical possibilities… experiences that take you beyond the ordinary. That’s where magical haunted ghost chocolate comes in.”

And honestly, we’re sold. Magical ghost chocolate? Yes, please.

Whilst it won’t be released for a while yet, it looks like an enchanting setting for the new game. The new style of sprites explored in Haunted Chocolatier are a delight and a clear testament to the developer’s ever-improving art style. It looks like there’s a whole cast of diverse townsfolk for the player character to meet, and gathering the rare ingredients needed to make your chocolate through monster hunting is a whole lot of fun.

I trust Burk instantly.

What secrets does this town hold? Why is there a magical portal in our house? And most importantly, who put these ghosts in the chocolate?

Whatever the answer, we look forward to finding out.

The RPG has no set release date so far, but there’s no doubt in our mind that it’ll be well worth the wait.

Will you be following the development of the game? (If so, here’s the link to Apes blog!) Have you seen the sneak gameplay peek? Let us know what you think in the comments!
