Nintendo Direct coming tomorrow at 11pm (BST)

The speculating can finally stop!

Yes, in spite of all the shot down rumours, false hopes and predictions, the September Nintendo Direct is finally a reality! Nintendo just announced the new Direct on their official Twitter Page, and the online presentation will be broadcast tomorrow 23rd of September at 11pm UK / 3pm Pacific / 6pm Eastern and on September 24th at 8am AEST.

About time too!

The Direct Presentation promises to be roughly 40 minutes long and “focused mainly on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter.” This means that we may get one or two insights into games coming in 2022 but they’re likely to be little more than small teasers or mentions (we don’t care how long it takes, we’ll still wait for you Metroid Prime 4).

Not counting the smaller indie showcases, this marks the 3rd full Nintendo Direct of 2021. The 1st Direct of the year was in February and showed us Splatoon 3, Mario Golf: Super Rush and Zelda: Skyward Sword HD amongst other titles. Then at E3 2021, Nintendo announced Metroid Dread, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, WarioWare: Get it Together and more footage of the much-anticipated Breath of the Wild 2!

Metroid Dread, Mario Party Superstars and Advance Wars Re-Boot Camp are games likely to make an appearance at tomorrow’s Direct

Like any Nintendo Direct announcement, the internet has already been busy with wild theories and speculations about what could be announced. For years now there’s been rumours of Game Boy and N64 games coming to Nintendo Switch Online, or the much-fabled announcement of a Switch Pro. What’s more likely however is that we may finally see the reveal of the final character coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. By Friday we may finally be able to rest knowing whether Waluigi finally made it in or not.

With a focus on games coming out this year, it’s likely that we’ll see more of Metroid Dread and Mario Party Superstars, but anything else is up for speculation. Could we really be seeing Breath of the Wild 2 release in time for Christmas? Guess we’ll just have to watch and find out!

Are you excited for the new Direct? Will you be watching it Live? What games are you hoping will be showcased? Let us know in the comments!
