Tom Hanks befriends a cute dog in Finch, an upcoming post-apocalyptic sci-fi film, soon to be on Apple TV+.
Tom Hanks plays a robotics engineer Finch who finds himself frightened and alone on a desolate planet after the Earth is hit by a solar flare. Luckily for our lonely loner, he stumbles upon a new companion who is an adorable doggo.
Acutely aware of his own waning mortality he builds a humanoid-like robot (played by Caleb Landry Jones) to care for his new-found canine friend. This at-first clumsy and immature robot, who names himself Jeff, gradually develops more and is able to assist the team on its mission. The story follows the unlikely trio’s journey to find a sustainable, long-lasting and safe new residence.
The movie is directed by British filmmaker Miguel Sapochnik (Altered Carbon, Game of Thrones).
