With everyone online celebrating the Gamecube’s 20th anniversary this week, it’s only fitting that we should see the Pre-Orders open for the BladeGC, a swanky new Gamecube controller made by Retro Fighters!
Despite looking like sleek Switch Pro controllers, these wireless pads are designed to be used with the original GameCube hardware! Now you can play Mario Kart Double Dash and Pikmin 2 whilst spinning around the room on a motorised Roomba; just what we’ve always wanted!

The controllers cost $39.99, (roughly £28.89) and come in Classic Purple, Black, and Orange colours! Pre-Orders are only open for 19 more days so you better be quick if you want your hands on one! The controllers are currently scheduled to launch in April 2022 for GameCube lovers everywhere!
The next revolution from Retro Fighters is here! The BladeGC is an ergonomically designed controller that is compatible with the GameCube, Switch & PC. The BladeGC features pressure sensitive analog triggers, comfortable and accurate directional pad and responsive analog sticks. Take your GameCube playing experience to the next level with 2.4GHz wireless technology and a 10+ hour rechargeable battery!
The GameCube may not have been one of Nintendo’s most successful consoles, but it’s received an endless amount of love since its debut in 2001, garnering praise and adoration for its fun design and incredible library of games; from Super Mario Sunshine, to Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Pikmin, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Super Smash Bros. Melee just to name a few!
The original GameCube controller is still heralded today as one of the best gamepads ever created. The fact that Nintendo is still selling modern versions of the classic controller to be compatible with games for both the Wii U and Switch speaks volumes for the impact it made on the gaming world. Now with the BladeGC, everyone can experience the joys of the GameCube in a whole new way!
