Sea of Thieves August Update Delivers New Pirate Emporium Booty

The Pirate Emporium

Ahoy and avast ye, me hearties! If you’re one of the growing number of pirates taking to the seas in Sea of Thieves, you’ll be pleased to discover that the August update has docked; carrying treasures to port from the stormy waves.

The most recent update to the game brings a bundle of new additions to ‘The Pirate Emporium’ in-game shop. Following their crossover partnership with Disney’s Pirates of The Caribbean franchise, players can now cosplay as Davy Jones, redecorate their ship with the Cursed Ferryman Set and express themselves with a collection of new summer-themed emotes.

As Sea of Thieves sails into the latter half of its third season, players can still equip themselves with the latest ‘Plunder Pass’ to unlock seasonal weapons, pets, emotes and other cosmetics as they level up, including early access to items that will be released in the Pirate Emporium at a later date.

The pass is available for purchase in-game for 999 Ancient Coins (the game’s currency) or from either the Microsoft Store or Steam Item Store as additional content. You can read more about it here.

After today’s server maintenance the game is now playable again with many minor bug fixes and game improvements patched in. Want to learn more about the changes? Spy through the looking glass for the full patch notes here.

Sea of Thieves is available on PC and Xbox should ye wish to sail the Seven Seas. Savvy?

Personally we’re big fans of the game and are excited to get stuck in for more pirate adventures.

Alan wonders how it all came to this, as he watches his ship burn.
